How much LONGER will it be before we know if Mike Brown was EXECUTED or not?

I am angry.  Let me take it a step further: I am an angry BLACK man.  There.  I said it.  I'm also hurt, frustrated, humiliated and insulted.  It was 22 days ago when Darren Wilson, an officer on the Ferguson (MO) Police Department shot and killed Michael Brown, Jr. - an 18 year old black male who was UNARMED when Darren Wilson killed him.  Of all the images the world has seen emanating from Ferguson in the last 22 days, THIS one (left) stands out to me personally.  This kid's dead body lying in the street for HOURS on public display.  WHY?  What could this UNARMED 18 year old have possibly done to be humiliated like THIS?  Apparently to the Ferguson Police Department, he justly deserved such humiliation. It wasn't enough that he was gunned down under suspect circumstances in the middle of a an apartment complex on a Saturday afternoon in front of COUNTLESS witnesses.  This was a clear MESSAGE.  To top it off, when Mike Brown's body was removed from the scene it was taken away not in a coroner's vehicle, but in an obscure and unmarked SUV.  I will NEVER forget this scene.  The people who witnessed this grisly scene first hand will never forget it, either.  I will never forget the images.  I will also remember the images of Mike Brown's parents while they were overcome with grief at their son's memorial service.  Whether you're a parent or not, HOW can your heart NOT be heavy seeing his parents in such overwhelming grief?

Which brings me to my source of anger.  In the 22 days hence, there are STILL no answers from the Ferguson Police Department, St. Louis County Police Department, which is heading up the local investigation, or the Department of Justice, which is conducting a simultaneous investigation.  NOTHINGTom Jackson, chief of the Ferguson Police Department, has been absolutely incompetent throughout this case.  He withheld Darren Wilson's name until he HAD to release it due to requests for the officer's name through Sunshine Law and Freedom of Information Act requests.  On the same day, he released a video of Mike Brown allegedly stealing miniature cigars from a nearby convenience store.  Jackson went on to confirm the video was not at all related to Mike Brown being shot and killed.  Darren Wilson, who shot and killed Mike Brown, has seemingly vanished from the face of the earth.  He is on PAID administrative leave and for all we know, he could be in Tahiti sipping Mai Tais.  Neither he or his legal counsel have yet to be heard from.  Plenty of witnesses have been heard from, though.  Eyewitness accounts have said that Mike Brown was running from Darren Wilson, Wilson discharged his service weapon and that is when Mike Brown turned and faced Wilson with his hands up in the air and that Wilson continued shooting until Mike Brown fell dead in the street.  Those accounts have not been disputed.  In fact, if Darren Wilson was NOT a police officer he would have been arrested, charged and awaiting trial.  However, Darren Wilson IS a police officer and police officers, due to their sworn oath to "serve and protect" more often than not are given the benefit of the doubt.  There is more than enough circumstantial evidence to have sought and obtained an arrest warrant.  Again, any other citizen who shot someone UNARMED 6 times would have at MINIMUM been taken into custody.
Michael Brown. Sr. overcome with grief

Which brings me to my frustration, humiliation and insult.  I am frustrated because there has been no consideration at all to the public's right to know what happened on that fateful and fatal (for Mike Brown) Saturday afternoon 22 days ago.  There doesn't appear to be any urgency of disseminating any information, either. This simply is not right.

I am humiliated because seemingly there has been no consideration given to Mike Brown's HUMAN rights by a significant number of "law and order" zealots.  Talk radio has been brutal ... INHUMANE, really.  I haven't listened to a lot of national talk radio lately, but the airwaves in St. Louis have been filled with some of the most despicable, bigoted and racists comments I have ever heard in my LIFE ... and I was born and raised in St. Louis, one of the most racially POLARIZED cities in America.  Mike Brown was a HUMAN BEING and it is humiliating to see and hear his human rights disregarded in such a callous fashion.

I am insulted because the steps taken by law enforcement and the prosecuting attorney's office have not proceeded as they would have in any other murder case.  In any other murder case, the prosecution would have charged the suspect and held a preliminary hearing which would have been made public.  However in this case, embattled St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCullough chose to present the case to the St. Louis County Grand Jury.   McCollough's objectivity in this case has been called to question and this past Thursday (August 28) over 900, 000 signatures on a petition asking for the removal of McCullough from this case was delivered to the White House.  McCullough has indicated that he would step aside IF and ONLY if Missouri governor Jay Nixon asked him to.  Jay Nixon does have the authority to remove McCullough from the case, but has indicated that he will not do so.  This volleyball match between the governor and the prosecutor compounds the insult.

Mike Brown's family and the WORLD community NEEDS to KNOW what really happened on August 9, 2014 in Ferguson and when criminal charges, if any, will be filed.  It's as simple as that.

How much LONGER will it be before we know if Mike Brown was EXECUTED or not?

World peace.
